THE GENERAL’S WIFE
Episode 9
Teni’s heart pounded as she stood frozen, staring at Kola and the armed soldiers behind him.
Richard’s grip on her wrist tightened. He was just as shocked as she was.
Kola took a step forward, his eyes locked onto Richard. “You really thought you could take what’s mine and walk away?”
Richard swallowed hard. “Kola, listen—”
Before he could finish, Kola’s fist smashed into his face.
Richard stumbled backward, crashing against the dining table.
“Kola, stop!” Teni screamed, rushing forward.
One of the soldiers grabbed her and pulled her back.
Kola didn’t even look at her. His focus was on Richard, who was groaning in pain on the floor.
“You were my best friend,” Kola said coldly. “I trusted you. I took you in like a brother.”
Richard coughed, blood dripping from his lip. “Kola, please… I swear, I regret everything.”
Kola let out a dry laugh. “Regret? You think regret is enough?”
He turned to his soldiers. “Take him.”
Teni’s eyes widened. “No! Where are you taking him?”
Kola ignored her. The soldiers dragged Richard up and pulled him toward the door.
Teni fought against the soldier holding her. “Kola, please! This isn’t right!”
Kola turned to her, his expression unreadable. “And you… what do I do with you, Teni?”
Teni’s voice trembled. “I’m your wife.”
Kola tilted his head. “My wife?” He let out a bitter chuckle. “You stopped being my wife the moment you let another man into our bed.”
Tears streamed down Teni’s face. “Kola, I love you. I made a mistake, but I love you!”
Kola’s face darkened. “Love?” He took a slow step toward her. “If you loved me, you wouldn’t have betrayed me.”
Teni sobbed. “Please don’t hurt Richard. Don’t hurt me.”
Kola studied her for a long moment. Then he sighed. “I won’t hurt you, Teni.”
She let out a shaky breath. “Thank you.”
“But I also won’t forgive you,” he added.
Teni’s stomach dropped.
Kola turned to his soldier. “Let her go.”
The soldier released her.
Kola took another step forward, his face inches from hers. “Leave my house, Teni. And never come back.”
Teni’s lips trembled. “Kola…”
“If I ever see you again,” Kola continued, his voice low, “I won’t be this merciful.”
Teni’s knees felt weak.
She looked at the man she had once loved, the man who had once loved her more than anything.
Now, all she saw was coldness.
A broken man.
A dangerous man.
Kola stepped aside. “Go.”
Teni hesitated for a moment, then turned and ran out of the house.
Tears blurred her vision as she rushed down the street, her heart breaking with every step.
She had lost everything.
Her home.
Her husband.
And soon, she would lose something even more precious.
Because she had no idea what Kola was planning for Richard.
And she was powerless to stop it.
Kola sat in his car, staring at the house where he had spent years building a life with Teni.
A life that had been shattered.
A soldier knocked on his window. “Sir, what should we do with Richard?”
Kola’s grip on the steering wheel tightened.
“Take him to the base,” he said coldly.
The soldier saluted. “Yes, sir.”
Kola exhaled slowly.
This wasn’t over.
Not yet.
Richard was about to learn what happened to traitors.
And Teni?
She would live with her regrets for the rest of her life.
Because once Kola was done…
There would be nothing left of the man she had betrayed.
THE GENERAL’S WIFE
Episode 10
Teni ran blindly down the street, her chest tight with fear and sorrow.
She had lost Kola.
She had lost her home.
And now, Richard was in danger because of her.
She needed to do something.
She needed to save him.
But how?
Kola wasn’t just an angry husband—he was an Army General.
A powerful man.
And Richard… Richard was in his custody now.
Teni stopped in front of a small shop, panting.
She pulled out her phone with shaking hands and dialed Richard’s number.
It rang once.
Twice.
Then—
“The number you are trying to call is switched off.”
Teni’s heart dropped.
Kola had taken him somewhere. Somewhere bad.
She had to act fast.
She quickly dialed another number—Richard’s younger brother, Daniel.
After a few rings, he picked up. “Teni?” His voice was groggy, as if he had just woken up.
“Daniel, listen to me,” she said urgently. “Kola has Richard. He took him.”
There was silence on the other end. Then, “What?”
“Kola found out about us,” Teni admitted, her voice shaking. “He sent soldiers. They dragged Richard away.”
Daniel cursed under his breath. “Where did they take him?”
“I don’t know,” Teni whispered. “But I think it’s the army base.”
Daniel exhaled sharply. “This is bad, Teni. If Kola wants revenge, Richard is in serious danger.”
Teni’s stomach twisted. “We have to save him.”
Daniel hesitated. “I’ll make some calls. But, Teni… you should leave town. If Kola is coming for Richard, he might come for you too.”
Teni swallowed hard. “I can’t just run away.”
“Then be careful,” Daniel warned. “Because Kola isn’t the same man you married anymore.”
Teni ended the call and hugged herself tightly.
She had made a terrible mistake.
And now, the consequences were catching up to her.
At the military base, Richard was dragged into a dark room.
His hands were tied behind his back. His face was bruised from Kola’s earlier punch.
The soldiers forced him onto a chair.
Then, the door opened.
Kola walked in.
He was dressed in full military uniform, his General’s badge shining under the dim light.
He looked at Richard like he was nothing.
Richard licked his cracked lips. “Kola… please. You don’t have to do this.”
Kola didn’t respond immediately. He took off his gloves, one finger at a time, and placed them neatly on the table.
Then he leaned forward, his voice quiet. “Do you know what happens to traitors, Richard?”
Richard swallowed.
Kola continued, “I could make you disappear. No one would question me.”
Richard’s hands trembled behind his back. “I was wrong, Kola. I know that. But please, we were friends once.”
Kola’s lips curled into a bitter smile. “Friends?” He let out a short laugh. “I trusted you more than anyone. And you repaid me by sleeping with my wife.”
Richard bowed his head. “I don’t have an excuse.”
“You don’t need one,” Kola said flatly.
He turned to one of the soldiers. “Leave us.”
The soldier hesitated. “Sir, are you sure?”
Kola’s eyes darkened. “Did I stutter?”
The soldier quickly saluted and exited, closing the door behind him.
Now, it was just Kola and Richard.
A long silence passed between them.
Then Kola spoke again.
“You destroyed my family, Richard. Do you have any idea what that feels like?”
Richard lifted his head, eyes filled with regret. “I do now.”
Kola clenched his jaw. “Good.”
Then, without warning, he pulled a pistol from his belt.
Richard’s eyes widened. “Kola—”
Kola cocked the gun and pointed it at Richard’s forehead.
Richard’s breath came in short gasps. “Please… don’t do this.”
Kola’s finger hovered over the trigger.
For a moment, his hands shook.
A thousand memories flashed through his mind—
The years of friendship.
The trust.
The betrayal.
His grip tightened.
And then—
BANG!
The gun fired.
Richard screamed.
But when he opened his eyes, he realized something.
The bullet had missed.
It had hit the chair beside him.
His whole body shook as he looked up at Kola, who was still holding the smoking gun.
Kola’s expression was unreadable.
“You’re lucky,” Kola said finally.
Richard swallowed hard. “Kola…”
Kola’s jaw clenched. Then he threw the gun onto the table and turned away.
“You’re leaving the country,” Kola said. “Tonight.”
Richard blinked. “What?”
“If I ever see your face again,” Kola continued, “I won’t miss next time.”
Richard stared at him, unable to believe what he was hearing.
Kola was letting him go.
But at a cost.
“You’ll go far away,” Kola said. “And you will never return. Do you understand me?”
Richard nodded quickly. “Yes. I understand.”
Kola took a deep breath. Then he walked to the door and knocked twice.
The soldiers entered.
“Take him to the airport,” Kola ordered. “Make sure he boards the plane.”
The soldiers saluted and dragged Richard to his feet.
As they pulled him toward the door, Richard turned back one last time.
“Kola…”
Kola didn’t look at him.
Richard hesitated, then lowered his head.
And just like that, he was gone.
Teni sat on a wooden bench at a small roadside restaurant, waiting for Daniel to call back.
Her hands shook as she sipped a cup of water.
Then her phone vibrated.
She grabbed it immediately and answered. “Daniel?”
His voice was urgent. “Teni, I found out where Richard is. Kola took him to the army base.”
Teni’s breath caught. “Oh my God. Is he okay?”
Daniel hesitated. “I don’t know. But listen, Teni… you need to be careful. I just heard something disturbing.”
Teni frowned. “What is it?”
Daniel’s voice dropped to a whisper. “Kola didn’t just let you go because he was angry.”
Teni stiffened. “What do you mean?”
“He’s planning something, Teni,” Daniel said. “Something big. And I think it involves you.”
Teni’s blood ran cold.
“What?” she whispered.
But before Daniel could answer, the call suddenly disconnected.
Teni stared at the screen in shock.
Then she heard it—
The deep rumble of a car engine slowing down beside her.
She turned her head slowly.
A black SUV had parked nearby.
And sitting in the driver’s seat…
Was Kola.
His eyes met hers through the window.
Teni’s heart pounded in terror.
She had escaped him once.
But now, he had found her again.
And this time, she wasn’t sure if she would survive.
