THE GENERAL’S WIFE
Episode 18 (The Final Episode)
Kola paced his study, his mind in chaos.
His perfect reputation was shattered.
The military had summoned him.
His custody case was now under public scrutiny.
And worst of all—
Teni had won the public’s sympathy.
His rage boiled over.
With a swift motion, he swept everything off his desk, sending papers and glass crashing to the floor.
“Sir,” his assistant, Lanre, entered cautiously. “The military board is serious. They have witnesses ready to testify against you.”
Kola clenched his jaw. “And what about the custody case?”
Lanre swallowed. “The judge is reconsidering the case because of the new evidence Teni submitted.”
Kola’s hands fisted at his sides.
Teni had destroyed everything he worked for.
He had only one move left.
One last chance to regain control.
“I need to see my wife,” Kola said, his voice dangerously low.
Lanre hesitated. “Sir, I don’t think that’s a good—”
“I need to see her,” Kola snapped.
His eyes burned with determination.
If Teni thought she had won…
She was wrong.
Teni sat in Daniel’s apartment, staring at the custody documents on the table.
Tomorrow was the final court hearing.
She had hope, but a part of her was still scared.
Kola was a dangerous man.
Could she truly be free from him?
A knock at the door made her jump.
Daniel walked over to check.
But before he could react—
Kola pushed his way inside.
Teni’s breath hitched.
“Kola?” Daniel’s voice was sharp. “What the hell are you doing here?”
Kola ignored him.
His eyes locked onto Teni’s.
“You won’t win,” he said, stepping closer. “You think you’ve destroyed me, but you haven’t.”
Teni’s hands clenched. “I don’t need to destroy you, Kola. You did that to yourself.”
Kola let out a bitter laugh. “You’re my wife, Teni. You belong to me.”
Daniel stepped in front of her. “She doesn’t belong to anyone.”
Kola’s face twisted with rage. “You think she loves you? She’s mine!”
Teni stepped forward.
Her voice was calm but firm.
“No, Kola. I was never yours. You controlled me, but you never loved me. And I never loved you.”
Kola staggered back as if she had slapped him.
For the first time, he saw the truth.
He had lost her.
Not because of Daniel.
Not because of the court case.
But because Teni was no longer afraid of him.
The realization hit him like a bullet.
His grip on power was gone.
His voice was hoarse. “Teni…”
“Leave,” she said firmly. “It’s over.”
Kola stared at her for a long moment.
Then, for the first time in his life…
He turned and walked away.
The next day, the court dismissed Kola’s custody claim.
The judge ruled in Teni’s favor, granting her full custody of her son.
Outside the courthouse, reporters swarmed her, asking for statements.
But Teni ignored them.
Instead, she turned to Daniel.
She exhaled deeply. “It’s over.”
Daniel smiled, cupping her face. “You did it, Teni. You fought back.”
Teni looked up at the sky, letting the warm sun wash over her.
For the first time in years, she felt free.
She had escaped Kola.
She had fought for her son.
And she had won.
As she held Daniel’s hand, she knew…
This was only the beginning of her new life.
A life without fear.
A life filled with hope.
A life she chose for herself.
THE END.
