THE GENERAL’S WIFE
Episode 12
Teni’s breath came in shallow gasps as she stood trapped between Kola and the cold wall of their home.
Her heart pounded so loudly she could barely hear anything else.
Kola’s dark eyes searched hers, unreadable yet filled with something sinister.
“You’re mine, Teni,” he said quietly. “And you will never leave me again.”
Teni swallowed hard. “Kola, please… whatever this is, it’s not love.”
Kola let out a dry chuckle. “Love?” He tilted his head. “You think I still love you?”
Teni’s stomach twisted. “Then why are you doing this?”
Kola’s jaw clenched. “Because I want you to feel what I felt.”
Teni’s body tensed. “What are you talking about?”
Kola leaned in, his breath warm against her ear. “Betrayal. Pain. Helplessness.”
Teni shivered, fear tightening around her throat like a noose.
“I’m going to make sure you experience everything I went through,” Kola whispered.
Teni forced herself to stay calm. “Kola, if you truly want revenge, then let me go. Keeping me here won’t fix what’s broken.”
Kola studied her for a moment, then smirked. “Oh, but it’s not about fixing things, my dear. It’s about control.”
Teni’s knees felt weak.
She was trapped.
And Kola had no intention of letting her go.
Days passed, but they felt like years.
Teni was no longer a wife.
She was a prisoner.
Kola never hurt her physically, but he made sure she knew she wasn’t free.
Her phone? Confiscated.
The house? Locked from the outside whenever he left.
The guards and maids? Still gone.
Teni was alone with him, and every moment felt like walking on a minefield.
She tried to reason with him, to make him see that this wasn’t the way.
But Kola was no longer the man she had married.
He was colder. Calculating.
And worst of all… he enjoyed seeing her suffer.
One evening, as Kola stepped out to take a call, Teni noticed something.
The landline phone in the study.
Kola rarely used it, and it was still connected.
This was her chance.
She tiptoed toward the study, heart pounding.
Her fingers trembled as she picked up the receiver and quickly dialed Daniel’s number.
It rang once.
Twice.
Then—
“Hello?” Daniel’s voice came through, hushed but urgent.
Teni’s throat tightened with emotion. “Daniel, it’s me.”
“Teni? Oh my God! Where are you? Are you okay?”
Teni glanced at the door, her voice shaking. “I’m at the house. Kola won’t let me leave.”
Daniel cursed under his breath. “I knew something was wrong. Listen, Teni, I need you to stay calm. I’m coming for you.”
Teni’s eyes filled with tears. “Please hurry.”
But just as she said it.
The study door burst open.
Kola stood there, his eyes burning with fury.
Teni barely had time to react before he snatched the phone from her hand and slammed it down.
Silence.
Then—
Kola exhaled sharply. “You just don’t learn, do you?”
Teni took a step back, fear clawing at her chest.
“Kola, please…”
He shook his head, his expression unreadable. “I was going to take my time with this, but now… you leave me no choice.”
Teni’s blood ran cold.
“What are you going to do?” she whispered.
Kola’s lips curled into a cruel smile.
“You’ll see soon enough.”
And with that, he grabbed her wrist and dragged her toward the stairs.
Teni screamed, struggling against his grip.
But Kola didn’t let go.
As he pulled her deeper into the house, one thing became clear—
The worst was yet to come.
THE GENERALS WIFE
Episode 13
Teni struggled against Kola’s grip as he dragged her up the stairs.
“Let me go!” she screamed, but his hold was like iron.
Kola didn’t speak. His face was set in stone, his eyes dark with something unreadable.
Teni’s heart pounded as they reached the master bedroom.
Kola pushed the door open and shoved her inside.
She stumbled, catching herself on the edge of the bed.
Then she turned to face him, chest heaving.
“Kola, please,” she said, her voice shaking. “You don’t have to do this.”
Kola leaned against the door, watching her. “You know what’s funny, Teni?”
She swallowed hard. “What?”
“I’ve always been in control. On the battlefield. In my career. In my life.” He let out a dry chuckle. “But the one thing I never controlled was my heart. I let it love you. And look where that got me.”
Teni’s throat tightened. “I know I hurt you. But keeping me here like this… It won’t heal you.”
Kola’s smirk faded. “Oh, I know. But it will teach you a lesson.”
Teni’s blood ran cold. “What lesson?”
Kola stepped closer. “That actions have consequences.”
Teni shook her head. “This isn’t justice, Kola. It’s revenge.”
Kola exhaled sharply, running a hand through his short-cropped hair. “Call it whatever you want, Teni. But you will stay in this house until I decide otherwise.”
Teni felt panic rising.
She had to escape.
Somehow.
Kola turned to leave, locking the door behind him.
The sound of the key turning in the lock sent chills down Teni’s spine.
She was trapped.
Again.
And this time, she wasn’t sure if anyone could save her.
Teni sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the locked door.
Her mind raced.
Daniel knew where she was now.
But could he get to her before Kola did something worse?
She had to buy herself time.
She had to make Kola believe she had surrendered.
Teni took a deep breath, calming her racing heart.
Then she got up and knocked softly on the door.
“Kola?” she called.
Silence.
Then, after a moment, she heard his footsteps.
The lock clicked, and Kola stepped in, his expression cautious.
Teni looked up at him with wide, tear-filled eyes. “I don’t want to fight anymore.”
Kola narrowed his eyes. “What are you saying?”
Teni swallowed, lowering her gaze. “You were right. I betrayed you. And I deserve whatever punishment you give me.”
Kola studied her carefully. “You expect me to believe that?”
Teni forced herself to nod. “I… I just want to make things right.”
Kola was silent for a long moment.
Then, slowly, he stepped closer.
“You really mean that?”
Teni forced herself to smile. “Yes.”
Kola reached out and touched her cheek, his fingers warm against her skin.
“If that’s true, then prove it.”
Teni’s stomach twisted.
She had to act fast before he saw through her lie.
She placed a shaky hand on his chest. “Just… give me time, Kola.”
He exhaled sharply. “Time? After what you did?”
Teni nodded. “If you still want me to be your wife, let me prove it to you.”
Kola studied her face, his jaw tightening.
Then, finally, he stepped back.
“I’ll think about it,” he said.
Then he walked out and locked the door again.
Teni let out a shaky breath.
She had bought herself a little time.
Now, she had to find a way to escape before it was too late.
Meanwhile, Daniel was pacing in his living room, his phone pressed to his ear.
He had called in every favor he could think of.
Now, he was waiting for the one person who could help him.
After a few rings, the call connected.
“Captain Jide speaking,” a deep voice answered.
“Jide, it’s Daniel. I need your help.”
Jide was one of Kola’s closest army friends.
And if there was anyone who could get to Kola, it was him.
“What’s wrong?” Jide asked.
“It’s Teni,” Daniel said quickly. “Kola has her locked up in the house.”
There was a long pause.
Then Jide cursed. “I knew something was off with him. Where exactly is she?”
Daniel gave him the address.
Jide’s voice was firm. “Stay put. I’ll handle this.”
Daniel sighed in relief. “Thank you, Jide.”
Jide exhaled. “Let’s just hope we’re not too late.”
As the call ended, Daniel clenched his fists.
Hang on, Teni.
Help was coming.
That night, Teni couldn’t sleep.
She knew her time was running out.
She had to act before Kola changed his mind.
She glanced around the room, searching for anything she could use.
Then she spotted it—the window.
It was locked, but if she could break it…
She tiptoed to the dresser and picked up a heavy perfume bottle.
Taking a deep breath, she raised it high and—
CRASH!
The glass shattered.
Teni winced at the sound, praying Kola hadn’t heard.
She quickly climbed onto the dresser and squeezed through the broken window.
The glass cut her skin, but she ignored the pain.
She was almost out—
Then she heard footsteps.
And Kola’s furious voice.
“TENI!”
Her heart nearly stopped.
She forced herself through the gap, ignoring the sharp pain as the glass dug into her arms.
She dropped to the ground outside, landing hard on her knees.
The house was surrounded by high walls, but if she could reach the gate—
“STOP HER!” Kola roared.
Teni ran.
Her bare feet hit the pavement as she sprinted toward the front gate.
A soldier stepped in her path, but before he could grab her—
A loud voice rang out.
“STAND DOWN!”
Teni turned in shock.
Jide stood at the entrance, several armed officers behind him.
“Kola, this stops now,” Jide said firmly.
Kola’s face was twisted in fury. “Jide, stay out of this!”
Jide took a step forward. “Let her go, Kola. Or I will have no choice but to intervene.”
Teni held her breath.
For a long moment, Kola just stared at Jide.
Then, slowly, his shoulders dropped.
He exhaled sharply and turned away.
“Take her,” he muttered.
Teni felt her knees weaken as Jide rushed to her side.
“You’re safe now,” he murmured.
Teni’s eyes filled with tears.
She was free.
But as she glanced back at Kola’s dark silhouette, she knew…
This wasn’t over.
