The Evil My Neighbor Did With My Clothes
Episode 6
Written By Jerry Smith.
I sat on my bed that night, staring into the darkness. The events of the past weeks played over and over in my mind. My body still bore the scars of the curse, my skin cracked and darkened as a constant reminder. But the quietness—the absence of the woman—was unsettling.
It was then that her warning came flooding back to me.
I remembered the night I told my mother everything. That night, I had fallen into a restless sleep, haunted by strange whispers. And in the dream, she appeared again.
The room was dark, but she glowed faintly, her eyes piercing into mine. Her smile was unsettling, a mix of joy and malice.
“David,” she said, her voice echoing as though it came from every corner of the room.
I froze, unable to move. “Why are you doing this to me?” I demanded, my voice trembling.
She tilted her head, her smile widening. “Because you belong to me,” she said simply.
“Belong to you?” I shouted. “I never agreed to this!”
She stepped closer, her figure blurring slightly as she moved. “You didn’t have to agree,” she said. “This was decided long before you were born. And now, you’re mine—my husband.”
I felt a chill run down my spine. “I’m not your husband,” I snapped. “You’re not even alive!”
Her face darkened, the glow around her fading slightly. “Don’t you understand, David?” she hissed. “You can’t escape me. If you try to leave me, I will take from you what you love the most.”
“What do you mean?” I asked, my voice shaking.
She leaned in, her cold breath brushing against my face. “If you defy me, you’ll lose everything.”
Her words hung in the air, and suddenly I was back in my room, drenched in sweat.
Now, as I sat there recalling her warning, my heart pounded in my chest. My mind raced with questions. What did she mean by lose everything? Who did she mean when she said I’d lose the one I loved the most?
I buried my face in my hands, trying to push the thoughts away, but they wouldn’t leave me. My eyes fell on the bed where I sat, and I froze.
There, on the white sheets, was a Bible.
I stared at it, unsure of how it got there. Slowly, I reached for it, but as soon as my fingers brushed its cover, it vanished.
The room seemed to shift, the air growing colder. And then, out of nowhere, a piercing scream filled the air.
“NO!”
The voice was hers, and it was filled with rage and pain. I clamped my hands over my ears, but the sound seemed to come from inside my head, and then everything went blank.
